Celebrate life this season with the showy, glowing charm of this compact perennial vine. Boulevard® Sarah Elizabeth™ Clematis (Clematis ‘Evipo098’) features a dynamic look, but requires minimal care.
Although she grows a little larger than other Boulevard vines, free-flowering Sarah Elizabeth remains an excellent fit in small space gardens. Trained on a wide-spreading support structure, she’ll make the most incredible privacy screen for you!
You’ll adore the candy-pink flowers in full sun or partial shade. World-famous breeder Raymond Evison says the soft, radiant tones of Sarah Elizabeth reflect the light in the landscape.
These delectable blossoms are full-sized and catch the eye of everyone who sees them. Each bloom is punctuated with a perfect accent of reddish-purple stamens acting like the perfect signature lipstick.
This special perennial vine blooms on both old growth from last year—and the new growth from this year, too. That means blooms appear at the base, and also grow throughout the top of the plant, too.
Grow an accent waterfall with one or more in hanging baskets. Keep them as a climbing “Thriller” in the center of an outdoor container; or “Spill” them from the edge of your planters.
Leave the last of the flowers on the vine to showcase the attractive, feathery seed heads. You’ll be delighted with this pop of winter interest!
Because this is a perennial vine, you’ll get to enjoy it year after year. Although it delivers a superb performance in containers; it is a superstar when planted in the ground!
Use as a climber for a mass of flowers, or let it decorate bare spots as a groundcover. Clematis is a great partner plant for Climbing Roses, too.
Sarah Elizabeth adds graceful visual interest wherever you place her. Remember…she might look delicate, but this tough plant takes both Minneapolis-style cold and the humid head of Houston.
Shine a spotlight in your landscape this season. Grow the exceptional Boulevard Sarah Elizabeth Clematis, but please hurry to place your order.
This lovely variety is going to sell out quickly, because it has received such good press.
How to Use Boulevard® Sarah Elizabeth™ Clematis in the Landscape
Put these incredible flowers to work in your garden design. There are so many ways to maximize their impact in your space.
Try a single plant in a large pot on your porch or balcony. Train the vines up and around your favorite garden object…whether it be a petite tuteur or a globe-shaped wire frame.
Even a tomato cage will work! By seasons end, you’ll have a lavish ball of blooms and delectably dark foliage to admire.
Butterflies also appreciate the long bloom time. This special plant makes a great addition to a Pollinator Garden.
Try several on a long, low trellis as a backdrop or screen. You’ll add much-needed structure and hold the brilliant flowers up to study them more closely.
Clematis wind their leaf stems around narrow gauge supports. For best results, you’ll want to shape a helpful overlay of coated wire or wide-mesh netting over your support.
These stylish blooms suit many different outdoor gardening themes. Go contemporary casual with a series of repeating matched containers placed the length of your patio.
Spread an easy-care, glowing carpet under a special Japanese Maple tree in an Asian-style garden. Space them two feet apart for a mass groundcover planting.
Add a miniature Cottage Garden along the underskirts of your foundation planting. Train a series of Sarah Elizabeth Clematis on wrought iron landscape edging.
Allow her to grow up into stolid, stodgy old evergreen shrubs. In one quick step, you’ll breathe new life into a mature planting.
Repeat her in your mixed garden on circular trellis or towers. Garden visitors will immediately appreciate the elegant contrast between the even tempo of hardscape and the twisting, twining, flowering growth.
Go ahead and plan a romantic Midsummer’s Night party with family and friends! Let her decorate the base of a Grecian statue, flanked on either side by our expertly grown Spartan Juniper Spiral Topiary.
Enjoy these outstanding plants in a very personal way. Sarah Elizabeth lives to make you happy.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Provide full sun for the foliage; and partial shade at the root zone. In warmer climates, she’ll do best with a shaded or partially shaded area.
Well-drained soil is important, as Clematis won’t tolerate standing water. Elevate your planting in a raised bed if your soil stays wet and soggy after a rain event.
Nature Hills Root Booster is highly recommended for all Clematis varieties. Give the tiny feeder roots life-long support with symbiotic ingredients like mycorrhizal fungus to access micronutrients from the soil.
Use wood mulch to cool the soil, even in containers. Apply three inches to cover the root zone, but pull it back away from the crown.
Even, consistent water is important for long-term health. This is especially true for container-grown plants…and automated drip irrigation makes life much easier.
Prune in early spring down to healthy buds 12 inches from the ground. You’ll leave those healthy buds in place for the brilliant first blooms.
With luminous blooms like Boulevard Sarah Elizabeth Clematis, you’ll do a happy garden dance each year as the first one opens. Don’t miss out on one of life’s purest joys…order today!
