Add a mysterious vertical element in your landscape this season. Showy Boulevard® Edda™ Clematis (Clematis ‘Evipo074’) stays small, but it’s delectably dark coloration brings a big impact…no matter where you use it.
Deep purple, overlapping sepals surround a light-colored boss of stamens. You’ll enjoy their beauty twice during the year.
Blooms appear starting in late spring. Enjoy their semi-double charm during this special time of year.
Dark purple creates a marvelous contrast to spring’s pastel tones. Recharge and take delight with the sassy color.
But these gorgeous blooms aren’t a monotone mass. Rather, each sepal is pinstriped with a beautiful slash of red-violet.
Grow Edda in fantastic container gardens, or keep them as a brilliant groundcover. Boulevard is a compact vine series that never outgrows its space.
This elegant choice supports local butterflies as a valuable nectar resource. Add Edda near your Victory Garden to entice local pollinators; and you’ll realize bigger yields of annual vegetables and fruit harvests.
Perennial Boulevard Edda Clematis comes back for you year after year. It’s blissfully easy care, and brings a designer look to your landscape.

How to Use Boulevard® Edda™ Clematis in the Landscape
Grace your space with these vining plants. Let them climb up small trellises or garden objects.
These cunning plants wrap their leaf stems around narrow supports. Add a wide-mesh net across a sturdy structure to enable its beautiful upward climb.
Please place your structure first, before you plant your Edda Clematis. Try not to disturb their roots once you’ve got them in the ground.
Place a sophisticated tower or obelisk in the center of a large outdoor container. Train your Edda to climb up the sides as an unforgettable “Thriller”.
Use several Boulevard Clematis varieties for overlapping bloom and a wonderful intertwined look. We are thrilled to offer this exciting, “right-sized” line of modern Clematis.
Mix and match for a very personal collection in your space. Surprisingly easy-care, these plants require so little, but give you so much in return.
They fit perfectly in small space gardens. Vertical growth habit and a petite footprint works even on the tiniest balconies.
Another unique way to leverage their free-flowering charm is to allow them to splay along the ground as a natural groundcover. Decorate your existing shrubs with their delicate greenery and full-sized flowers.
Clematis work first to develop their root systems in the ground. Be patient, and you’ll be handsomely rewarded.
Run a series of them near the edge of all your mixed borders. They’ll become a pitch perfect naturalized accent that you’ll cherish year after year.
Partner them with groundcover Roses for a special touch. Let them play at the base of our exceptionally crafted Ebb Tide Rose Tree Form.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Give their leaves full sun, and partial shade for their root zones. In the hottest summers, give them shade in the afternoon.
They need well-drained soil that sheds water quickly after a rain event. Elevate the planting in a raised bed to improve drainage.
We highly recommend Nature Hills Root Booster with Clematis plants. Their tiny feeder roots will access water and micronutrients with support from the time-tested ingredients, including mycorrhizal fungus. It never “wears out”.
Add a three-inch layer of wood mulch over their roots to keep them cool and moist. Pull the mulch back away from directly touching the crown.
Edda blooms on new growth. In early spring, simply prune it down to a set of live buds. Intertwine with other Pruning Type 3 varieties to keep it so simple for yourself
Get ready for compliments. The bold, deep color of Boulevard Edda Clematis really turns up the value of your plantings.
