Add one of the world’s most beautiful flowering plants to your life this season. Compact Boulevard® Chantilly™ Clematis (Clematis ‘Evipo021”) can be grown in containers to personalize a porch or balcony.
Gain dazzling visual appeal with a planting in the ground. Chantilly’s pale pink sepals are decorated with wavy edges and a deeper pink bar surrounding a red boss of stamens.
This showy modern cultivar stays small and makes a wonderfully elegant accent. Use one or more Chantilly together; or integrate them with other Pruning Group 2 varieties.
Can you imagine how gorgeous a paired planting of pale Chantilly and the heightened pink pigments of Alaina would look together? It would be a flowering dream from late spring through fall, with each plant taking turns playing the starring role.
Chantilly starts producing those exquisite blooms in late spring and the flower power doesn’t quit until into late summer.
As each bloom matures, the sepals age to a snowy white; although the stamens remain a bold brick-red. Enjoy the mix of delicate color on a single vine.
The mature blooms have another special feature. You’ll love the way they develop an exceptional fresh scent once fully open.
Fragrant, fancy Chantilly is a great choice. We have advance notice of rising garden design trends, and know that today’s professional designers are using easy-care Clematis in many innovative new ways.
Brighten up your outdoor living areas with the impeccable style and light fragrance of Boulevard Chantilly Clematis. Order today, and we’ll ship at the right time for planting in your area.
How to Use Boulevard® Chantilly™ Clematis in the Landscape
We encourage you to let your imagination soar with this effervescent beauty. Where can you add a bushy little vine that shows off such lavish blooms?
How about front and center?
Allow several to drip down from a sturdy hanging basket that is secured on a durable hook. Repeat that treatment for a billowing living curtain along the length of a long portico.
Or…add trellis to the base of that same portico and decorate it with the twining tendrils of Chantilly Clematis. Tie it up; or add coated landscape wire to the trellis for best results.
You might even decide to plant Chantilly as a groundcover at the foot of the structure. These petite plants are happy to scramble over bare ground, softening the look and adding pretty blooms all season.
No portico? If you are living the grand apartment life…place a series of vines grown in containers to shield your sensibilities from unsightly urban views.
Did you know you can support a trellis that spans the length of several containers? It’s a fairly simple DIY project.
Slip the long ends of your trellis into lengths of PVC pipe buried into the potting soil of your containers. Fasten your trellis to your balcony railing with strong wire. Then, fill up the pipe with fast-setting concrete with help from a friend.
For an incredible vertical screen, you might enjoy a mixed planting. Clematis comes in over 300 varieties with amazingly diverse colors and shapes.
Chantilly is a perfect choice to mix with others. The pale pink color is so easy to live with, and the fragrant rebloom makes it an excellent choice.
Create a memorable garden feature in a very small footprint with her help! You’ll fall in love all over again each season.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Chantilly Clematis loves having the leaves get full sun, but keeping her roots nice and cool in partial shade. Wood mulch can help, too, just be sure to pull it back away from the stems.
Place your support firmly before you plant, if you’ll use it as a climber. It’s best not to disturb their roots after planting.
Protect your investment with Nature Hills Root Booster for a life-long symbiotic relationship with time-tested ingredients, including mycorrhizal fungus. The formula helps the tiny feeder roots access water and micronutrients and it never “wears out”.
Apply a moderate amount of water on a regular basis. Please plant in well-drained soil; or elevate it in a raised planting bed.
Container-grown Clematis needs careful watering to keep it evenly moist. Try automated drip irrigation solutions to make things easier for yourself.
This is a Pruning type 2 Clematis. It blooms from buds forms on last year’s growth.
In early spring after the plant wakes up from dormancy, trim 3/4 of the overall size down. Cut down to live growth above budding stems.
Add a flirty flair with the polished Boulevard Chantilly Clematis. Our expert growers adore this plant, and so will you. Order today!
