Description
Green Feathers in Winter
Scandia Juniper, Juniperus sabina ‘Skandia’, is a low growing, semi-spreading evergreen that matures to 12 to 18 inches high and 6 feet wide.
The dense, bright green feathery foliage holds its color over the winter. Scandia can be planted in a pot or directly in the garden for foundation or mass border planting.
It works great as filler for your beautiful bouquets. Full sun will result in its best color, but it will tolerate part shade. Scandia prefers moist, well-drained soil and will provide an appealing addition to your yard.
The Scandia is very good in cold winter landscapes. The emerald hues contrast nicely against the snow. The plant thrives in mountainous conditions and anywhere the soil is thin.
Scandia Juniper is also used on slopes for erosion control and has excellent deer resistance. It is resistant to disease, drought, and is urban tolerant.
